ADCO Wins $55M Contract to Build St Albans Health and Wellbeing Hub
After a highly competitive tendering process, ADCO Constructions have won the contract to demolish and rebuild St Albans Health and Wellbeing Hub valued at $55.1m.
The new health and wellbeing hub will require demolishing the current leisure centre to make space for a new hub, fit out with a 50 metre swimming pool with water slides, a 24-hour gym, community program rooms and more.
ADCO is a leader in the construction sector with experience working on a range of high-scale community-based projects such as Splash Craigieburn Leisure and Aquatic Centre, the La Trobe University Sports Park, and the Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Hawthorn.
Brimbank Mayor, Cr Georgina Papafotiou made the comment, “The tender was well-timed in a market looking for long term projects, and the tender pricing was extremely competitive for the size and complexity of this project.”
Most recently, ADCO worked on Caulfield Grammar’s $25m Aquatic and Wellbeing Centre at the school’s St Kilda East campus.
The construction consisted of an Olympic sized competition pool with spectator seating, amenities, changing room facilities, a spin classroom and the refurbishment of existing function spaces.
ADCO has also won the contract for Morwell TAFE’s $35.5m campus redevelopment project which will be delivered in two stages.
The group is also working on a six-level, commercial fit-out of the Victorian Police offices and will soon commence construction on the St Albans Health and Wellbeing Hub, aiming to complete in 2022.
