Education Victoria: Preferred Builders Announced for Five New School Projects

Five new school projects have awarded tenders with preferred builders including Ascot Group, Plan Group, McColl Smith, ARC 3 and Melbcon.

Romsey Primary School

Ascot Group is the preferred builder for Romsey Primary School’s $2-3m school renovations.

The primary school was awarded a $3.2m grant from the Victorian Government to rejuvenate the grounds of the school. Ascot Group will redevelop the school’s playground and climbing area.

Alphington Primary School

Plan Group is the preferred builder of Alphington Primary School’s $10-15m project.

This will see Plan Group working to develop a new three-storey general learning centre, a new gymnasium, music room, and additional admin, classroom and library refurbishment works. Works are scheduled for completion by 2022.

Brunswick North West Primary School

McColl Smith is the preferred builder to deliver Brunswick North West Primary School — VSBA to deliver its $5-10m redevelopment works.

McColl Smith will work on the construction of the new ‘Stela’ Building including an adjoining walkway between classrooms. Works also include the internal refurbishment of a building block.  McColl Smith is scheduled to begin works during the end of year holiday break. Works will be completed by 2022.

Altona North Primary School

ARC 3 has been awarded a $3-4m contract to work with Altona North Primary School.

Project plans include the demolition of current classrooms and building a new and improved building for classes to take place. Works are scheduled to be completed by 2022.

Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School

Melbcon is the preferred builder for Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School to build two new buildings and restructure the campus’ external works.

The approximate overall budget for the construction is $4-5m. This project is expected to be finalised by 2021.
