Hamilton Marino Appointed To Build New Continental Hotel in Sorrento
Hamilton Marino has since been appointed to redevelop the Continental Hotel site into a luxury 4,482 square metre hotel with construction to resume as soon as this week.
In August, we reported that Trenerry Property Group would take over the development of the Sorrento’s iconic Continental Hotel after securing a recent sale of the site.
Together, the Victor Smorgon Group, the Kanat Group and Trenerry Property have committed a combined $100m to redevelop the 145-year-old heritage-listed hotel into a luxury tourist commodity for Sorrento.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the three groups funding the hotel purchased the neighbouring 1088-square metre property which will make room for 46 more hotel rooms and add an extra 25 percent to the site.

Hamilton Marino has been in business since 1975, constructing multi-level apartments and commercial constructions across Melbourne.
Their most recent projects include;
Marriot Courtyard next to Marvel Stadium comprising 150 guest rooms across 16 floors with bike tracks, cafes and bars and valued at $40m.
4248 Claremont apartments in South Yarra comprising of 113 apartments across 21 floors valued at $42-26m and,
River One and Riverfront apartments in Footscray including 20 levels and 367 apartments valued between $105-110m.
