Hickory Appointed to Build $150m Salta Office Towers as Nexus Corporate Expands

As demand for office space in Melbourne continues to skyrocket, Salta has named Hickory as the builder of its two new office towers in Mulgrave’s Nexus Corporate business park.

Construction is due to kick off in July 2019 and is anticipated to take approximately two years.

The buildings, offering 20,000sqm of office space between them, have already secured an anchor tenant in Carlisle Homes.

A long-time tenant of the Nexus Corporate business park, Carlisle will vacate its current building to occupy 8,000sqm of the larger building (12,000sqm total).

Salta Properties Managing Director, Sam Tarascio, said that the building had been specifically designed to meet Carlisle Homes’ growing needs, including showroom space.

“Carlisle Homes’ commitment to the site allows us to fast-track the development and appoint Hickory as our construction partner,” said Salta Properties Managing Director, Sam Tarascio. He added that the company was “looking forward” to its collaboration with Hickory.

The new towers are the latest addition to the Nexus Corporate complex, with Salta having opened its most recent building in October of last year. The $50 million building added a further 8,400sqm of office space to the business park.

“We are committed to ensuring that Nexus Corporate sets new benchmarks for best practice in business parks. Our continuous investment into infrastructure upgrades and amenities as well as new building developments continues to attract and retain incredible tenants,” said Tarascio at the time.

At current, the Nexus Corporate business park offers 60,000sqm of commercial office space across nine buildings. Its end value is estimated to be in excess of $500 million.

Last April, Salta also won approval from the Monash Council for a 15-storey mixed-use building at 12 Nexus Court, featuring Mulgrave’s first hotel.
