Ironside has been appointed to build Tim Gurner’s $120m mixed-use hotel project, Atelier in Collingwood.
The project will be located at 23-33 Johnson Street Collingwood and mark the suburb’s first hotel and apartment concept which has been inspired by New York’s Crosby Hotel.
The mixed-use five star hotel will include 65 high-end residential apartments, 95 luxury hotel rooms, and 700 sq m of retail space over two levels.
Gurner has 19 buildings and over 5700 apartments under development across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with an end value of more than $3.8b [Source: Gurner].
As the first of its kind in Melbourne’s inner north, Gurner has said, “Our proposed hotel and residences complex, located adjacent to the Cultural Arts Precinct will help establish this part of Collingwood as one of Melbourne’s most important cultural and residential pockets.”
Only five of the residential apartments are still for sale and according to Gurner, their dual model allows the company to offer luxury hotel services to the owners of the apartments.
The hotel has been inspired by Greenwich Village hotels in New York and will be fitted with exposed brick.
