The Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) has opened expressions of interest for Stage 3A of the $217 million Latrobe Regional Hospital Expansion in Traralgon.
Kane, Hansen Yuncken, Adco and Built have been invited to tender for the project.
Stage 3 will create 44 new beds, with 14 new medical and surgical beds, and will see the expansion of the maternity unit and delivery of three new operating theatres.
The third stage will also increase emergency department and intensive care unit capacity, and will include landscaped gardens and upgraded waiting areas.
Kane is currently completing Stage 2 of the $95 million expansion of the Northern Hospital in Epping, and is due for completion in June this year.
Kane is also set to deliver an expanded emergency department at Monash Medical Centre in September this year, valued at $76.3 million.
Hansen Yuncken’s experience in the healthcare sector includes the redevelopment of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in East Melbourne.
The $270 million project combines refurbishment of existing buildings and construction of new facilities.
Adco recently delivered the $75 million St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Werribee and adjacent 80-bed aged care facility.
Adco’s experience in the region also includes the Traralgon Recreation Centre. Adco is also currently delivering a $35.5 million upgrade to the TAFE Gippsland Skills Centre in Morwell.
Prior to this, Adco provided upgrades to Cabrini Malvern, constructing a third floor on the existing building. The $25 million project included new medical imaging facilities, two cardiac cath labs and extensions to the maternity ward.
A builder will be announced in the coming months, with construction slated to commence mid-2021.
Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2023.
