CMW Design & Construct Appointed to Build New Reece Group Site at Melbourne Airport
In August of next year, Reece Group will move into its new facility at the Melbourne Airport Business Park in Tullamarine.
Their next tenancy sits on a 46,566 square metre site and is being built by CMW Design & Construct.
Amazon has made a commitment to move into a 330 sq m distribution centre on the same site.
CMW will refurbish the existing building at the park and build a new warehouse for Reece. The dedicated facility will span 37,000 sq m.
This year Reece has expanded its retail outlets across Australia and New Zealand by over 600 percent and will move into the new space after August 2021.
In June, Reece saw its sales rise by $6b in one year.
According to the Australian Financial Review, Australian Pacific Airports Melbourne (APAM) is funding the development.
The Melbourne Airport Business Park was built by North Projects and is valued at $30m.
CMW Design & Construct has worked on a large portfolio of projects at Melbourne Airport for the developer, APAM ranging from;
The Geodis freight forwarding office totalling 8,000 sq m;
The Bollorè and Porsche offices spanning 24,000 sq m;
First Point Animal Services including a 2,100 sq m warehouse and 700 sq m office;
APAM head office ranging 15,000 sq m;
The Goodman Property Services’ new two-storey office totalling 8,700 sq m;
The Melbourne Air Cargo Centre totalling 2,500 sq m across an office business unit and;
An airfreight, warehousing and manufacturing centre for ten companies such as DHL, and QANTAS Freight and spanning over 70,000 sq m.
