What is Conecta?

Conecta is a two sided job marketplace that connects construction professionals who are actively seeking or passively open to job opportunities with the construction companies who want to hire them.

Who uses Conecta?

Construction professionals & construction companies.

What types of construction companies use Conecta?

Head-contractors & sub-contractors working on projects ranging from $1M to $100M. You can view our partners and find out more about them here. We cover their projects & project values, sectors, culture, employee benefits, company values and current job opportunities so you can make an informed decision before applying.

How does it work?

You join our platform as a member by creating a free profile.

You search current advertised job opportunities and apply directly to the company.

You can research construction companies in one place to find out whether they’re a good fit for you based on culture, values & benefits.

There are 3 job search statuses you can choose from:

  1. Active (actively looking for a job)
  2. Passive (passively open to job opportunities)
  3. Not Looking (not looking for a job)
Why do I need a profile?

Each section of your profile has been carefully curated to reflect the best snapshot a company looks for when shortlisting members for their roles. We’ve removed all unnecessary parts of a ‘usual’  job application like cover letters and updating your CV to match key criteria, to make the process simple, effective and to the point.

Can my employer see my information?

No. No matter your job-search status, your profile is always hidden from your current employer.

My employer is a Conecta Partner. Can they see my profile & information?

No. No matter your job-search status, your profile is always hidden from your current employer.

Can other members see my information?

No.

Who can see my information?

The companies that use Conecta (but not your employer – refer above).

The company I want to work for doesn’t have any jobs advertised. How do I get in touch with them?

If you ‘follow’ a Conecta Partner, you are added into their talent pool which tells them you are interested in working for them.

How much does it cost to become a member?

It’s free forever.

What if I’m not looking for a job?

That’s perfectly fine! Just sign up with a job-search status of ‘Not Looking’.

As part of our member value, we write bite-sized construction news for people who want to stay up to date with what’s going on in the industry.

Our content covers:

  1. New project tenders and likely builders
  2. Winning builders
  3. People movement
  4. Industry interviews with Construction leaders
  5. New initiatives & trends
  6. Detailed salary guides
Why do I have to provide my information if I’m not looking for a job?

We require your employer name to ensure your profile is hidden from them.

We use salary information by role to create our industry bi-annual salary guide.

How does the job function work?

There are 3 ways:

  1. A construction company or subcontractor lists a job opportunity, which you can apply to.
  2. A construction company or subcontractor lists a job opportunity which they’d like to invite you to apply to. They send you an invitation to apply which you’ll receive via sms, email & notification inside the Conecta platform. It’s your choice to apply or not.
  3. A construction company or subcontractor recruits without listing a job opportunity (off-market opportunity). If they like you & your experience, they’ll reach out directly.
How is Conecta better than job boards like SEEK & Indeed?
  1. We are construction industry specific.
  2. You deal directly with the hiring construction company.
  3. There are no recruiters on Conecta, only construction companies & subcontractors.
  4. All applications go directly to the company’s hiring manager, who are notified via email & sms of your application.
  5. We do not screen or gate applications. Every application is sent to the hiring manager.
  6. All advertised jobs are real jobs, with real companies.
  7. It’s a single click to apply, no cover letter required.
  8. You don’t require a CV if your profile is complete.
How is Conecta better than LinkedIn?
  1. Our jobs are professional construction-specific.
  2. You can search jobs & companies by industry specific criteria. For example:
    1. Project size
    2. Industry sectors
  3. You can view Conecta partner pages that showcase important information such as:
    1. Why you should join their business
    2. Company culture
    3. Company values
    4. Employees benefits
    5. Current & past projects
    6. Leaders
    7. Company vision
    8. Diversity, Sustainability, Environmental policies
  4. There are no recruiters on Conecta.
How is Conecta better than using a recruiter?
  1. You get straight to the point by dealing with the company decision maker right from the start.
  2. You are in complete control of your own information & applications.
  3. You are in control of who knows you’re looking for work at all times.
  4. You are in control of the jobs you apply for.
