Welcome McCorkell Constructions, Conecta’s newest partner

We’re excited to welcome our latest Conecta partner, McCorkell Constructions.

McCorkell is a trusted Melbourne builder established over 90 years ago, whose experience spans across all sectors.

The company’s demonstrated experience in the education sector has seen them rewarded time and again, and most recently McCorkell was recognised as the winner of the Commercial Buildings $20-30M category at the 2021 MBAV Excellence in Construction Awards.

McCorkell was awarded for the Penleigh & Essendon Grammar School gym and events centre project, which saw the creation of an architecturally designed facility featuring highly bespoke facades, vaulted ceilings and detailed finishes that required high levels of innovation and skill from the McCorkell team.

The PEGS gym and events centre is now also nominated in the National Master Builders Awards for Excellence.

McCorkell secured three landmark community projects, including the $42 million Kensington Community and Recreation Centre, the largest project the company has ever secured.

They commenced the Flemington Community Hub, which includes three community halls, working spaces, gender neutral changing rooms amongst other community facilities, and will seek a 5-Star Green Star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia.

In addition, McCorkell was selected to construct the Cowes Cultural & Community Centre, a purpose-built facility with a number of uses including a library, gallery, theatre and museum.  The Cowes CCC is a significant regional project designed to be Passivhaus certified and incorporating mass timber construction. 

In the city, McCorkell is currently constructing a new food hall at the Queen Victoria Market.
