Building Engineering commenced operations in Melbourne in 2003. As they celebrate 20 years in business this year, they are proud to have successfully delivered over 400 projects to a total value in excess of $1 billion across a wide range of industry sectors.

Whether it’s an innovative educational facility, a cutting-edge healthcare centre, a state-of-the-art community centre, or a sleek commercial fit-out and refurbishment, Building Engineering has the expertise and know-how to bring visions to life.

Building Engineering completed the Ivanhoe Grammar Sports & Aquatic Centre in early 2022. This state-of-the-art facility showcases the company’s ability to construct dynamic spaces that cater to both athletic and recreational needs.

The scope of works involved the delivery of four multipurpose basketball/netball courts, two tennis courts, change facilities, a weights room, aerobics and yoga studios, classrooms, staff offices, a kiosk, and a variable-depth 50 metre pool.

The sports and aquatic centre steps down the steep and into the site, over six levels. Strict height restrictions and an ambitious brief led the design to bury a large part of the building 24 metres underground. This design allowed for the inclusion of a trafficable roof for additional sports courts, and ensured the building sat comfortably within its context.

Building Engineering completed the Glenroy Community Hub for Merri-bek City Council in 2022. The scope of works for the cutting-edge community facility included a new library, kindergarten, maternal and child health services, community health centre, and community garden.

The Hub is the first public building in Australia to be Passivhaus certified. Certification was achieved within six months of completion which was a fantastic achievement.

Glenroy Community Hub was recognised at the 2022 Master Builders Excellence in Construction Awards, picking up the Best Sustainable Project award and the Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $20-30 million award.
