Lendlease, Hansen Yuncken and Watpac are pricing the Department of Health and Human Services’ delivery of the Dunlop Avenue Renewal.
The current homes located at Dunlop Avenue were built in the 1950s and the project aims to increase the current housing opportunities for Victorians in need of improved living environments.
In November The Victorian Government announced they will spend $5.3 billion over the next four years building over 12,000 new social housing tenancies.
The plans will create around 43,000 new jobs, at an average of ten thousand per year.
There are 80 existing dwellings that will be redeveloped into 200 new dwellings over 6 buildings.
Each new home will include a 5-star Green Star rating and a 7-star NatHERS average rating.
Demolition works commenced on the site in June and are currently being managed by City Circle Group. Construction is planned for early 2021 and estimated for completion in 2023.
It is expected that once completed, Dunlop Avenue will include well-designed community spaces and improved facilities that are in close distance to education facilities, employment opportunities, support services and shopping precincts.
Five percent of the newly developed social housing will be designated for Victorians with a disability.
Lendlease have been appointed to build the Geelong Performing Arts Centre valued at $128m and they have been shortlisted for the $1.5B development of 555 Collins Street.
Hansen Yuncken have completed the Melbourne Markets Relocation Project in Epping valued at $105m, and they have been appointed to deliver the latest Barwon Prison Infill Expansion valued at circa $100m.
Watpac has completed the Casey Hospital Expansion valued at $135m and they’re currently building a new medicinal cannabis facility in Toowoomba valued at approximately $400m.
