Maben has been appointed preferred builder for the Eastland office tower development in Ringwood, beating out Built, Probuild and Multiplex for the $60m project.
Neighbouring Ringwood Train Station and Eastland Shopping Centre, the 13,000sq m building, dubbed EastCo Tower, will house a mix of office and retail spaces across 10 storeys, with a three-level carpark and mezzanine working space.
The office building is being developed by Eastland owner QIC, and will offer 2,150sq m floorplates for tenants, with 360 degree views of the Yarra Valley, along with premium end-of-trip facilities.
The building will be the centre of what Eastland general manager Greg Balmforth says will be “a vibrant mixed-use town centre” for Ringwood.
Tier-2 builder Maben has a wealth of experience in retail, having recently completed aesthetic upgrades to Highpoint Shopping Centre and the $23 million Quest Apartment Hotel development at Pacific Epping.
Maben is also currently completing the design and construction of a two-storey, 5 Green Star office building above the existing multi-level carpark at Eastland.
Former Probuild Estimating Manager Paul Pettenuzzo is Lead Estimator on the project, adding stronger retail pricing to the development.
Rory McEnroe has also joined the team, having previously worked as Estimating Manager at BuildCorp, making a strong addition to the front end team.
Maben’s continued involvement with QIC across both projects and the notable personnel additions highlight an exciting time of change for the company, repositioning it as a key player in the commercial development sphere.
